I turned 40 in 2025.

I turned 40 in 2025.
Looking back, despite the ups and downs, I’m proud of everything I lived and built this year.

This year kicked off with me singing gang vocals on Black Guy Fawkes’ “Little Black Storm Clout”, featured on his new album. I went back to Portugal for a solo tour and had an amazing time; I also played my very first (and, so far, only) DJ set.

I started a monthly playlist to support music and artists I believe deserve to reach a wider audience (it’s on pause for now, but I don’t rule out bringing it back or finding new ways to support other musicians).

I returned to Portugal with my father and spent some precious time with him. He’s not getting any younger, and being able to share moments together is always a blessing.

I released a Misfits cover, “We Are 138”, on the charity compilation “The Kids Aren’t Alright” (check it out).

Epidemic Records released just one album this year, but it’s a banger: Hearts Apart – Summer Bummer. I worked PR for countless bands and artists, helping them promote their music in the best possible way, and I further strengthened my collaboration with a great vinyl pressing company.

In the span of roughly a month, I toured Germany solo, Europe with The Open Cages as a full band, and then headed back to the UK for my third solo tour, including the incredible Manchester Punk Festival.

I recorded three acoustic tracks (only one has been released so far).

I went back to Toronto, spent time with my Canadian family and friends, did many cool things, and attended countless shows throughout the year. I played two impromptu shows in Canada, a couple of open mics, and shot the video for “No Cigar” in Toronto.

I went to a Blue Jays game and saw the American League Champions in action (and, to me, the true moral winners of the World Series). I also attended City and Colour’s “Sometimes” 20th Anniversary show in Toronto, one of the most epic concerts I’ve ever experienced.

My journey in the music world came with a few disappointments and obstacles, but even when they slowed me down, they only fueled my hunger for something authentic and strengthened my desire to build a community of like-minded people around me.

Health-wise, things were mostly fine, and I consider myself lucky, though I did have to face a few issues that slowed my pace and caused some concern.

At the same time, 2025 brought new friendships and taught me how to trust again, allowing strangers to become part of my life in the deepest sense.

I added another line of work to my multifaceted, slightly schizophrenic life. While balancing being an independent musician and a self-employed professional, I started teaching English courses for unemployed people and workers looking to develop new skills. This brought more financial stability while still allowing me the independence I need as a touring artist.

I toured Italy solo to celebrate 10 years of Never Look Back and released “No Cigar” as a single and video.

I wrapped up the year with a full-band hometown show and announced that I’ll be playing Pouzza Fest in 2026. The new year is already shaping up to be challenging, stimulating, and full of great experiences. What I love most, though, is the mix of uncertainty and potential.

This is where I stand right now, with my choices and my ambitions.

Thanks to everyone who made my 2025 special in any way.
I’m lucky to be alive on the same timeline as you all.
See you in 2026.
